Soprano Anastassiya Kozhukharova has sung throughout her homeland of Kazakhstan and in Italy, Luxemburg, Austria, Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, Russia, South Korea and Japan. Highlights of previous seasons include performances on the stages of the Abai Kazakh State Opera Theater, the Kazakh Concert Hall, and the “Zhas sakhna” Theater in Kazakhstan. Additionally, she appeared at the Great Hall of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory as soprano soloist in the premiere performance in Kazakhstan of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, which was presented in honor of Metropolitan Hilarion Alfeyev, prominent world leader of the Russian Orthodox Church. She has performed as a soloist with the Kazakh State Philharmonic Orchestra and with the State Symphonic Orchestra conducted by Yerbolat Akhmediyarov, Rinat Salavatov, Nurzhan Baibussinov and Vag Papyan, as well as with the Mahler Philharmonic Orchestra at Royal Palace Theatre Schönbrunn in Vienna when she was a finalist in the 2014 Leo Slezak International Singing Competition and received Audience Favorite Prize.

In 2014, she participated in Salzburg Voice Festival masterclass and received the Audience Favorite Prize. As 3rd Premium Laureate of 7th Shizuoka International Opera Competition, she performed at multiple prizewinners’ concerts in Shizuoka and Tokyo and in the competition’s Gala Concert in Hamamatsu, Japan, under the baton of Chen Wen-Pin. She is a laureate and diploma holder of several international signing competitions which have been held in Bulgaria, Romania, South Korea, Japan, and Italy, and in 2015 she was a finalist at the VII Opera Ball Competition in her hometown of Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Anastassiya graduated cum laude from the Vocal Arts Department of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory where she was the winner of a scholarship from The First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Foundation. She also studied with Professor Yadviga Rappe at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. In addition, she has participated in masterclasses held by Monserrat Caballé, Katia Ricciarelli, Mieta Siegele, Maria Dragoni, Enrico Stinchelli, Ernesto Palacio, Fabio Armiliato, Theodore Coresi, Nurlan Bekmukhambetov, and Marco Balderi.

Among her most notable roles are Violetta in La Traviata, Die Königin der Nacht in DieZauberflöte, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, Adina in L’elisir d’amore, and Musetta in La Bohème, to name a few. In 2015, she was invited by the Mahler Philharmonic Society to present a solo lieder concert in Vienna where she was accompanied by Jonathan Floril, winner of the 59th Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition. Subsequently, Anastassiya and Mr. Floril recorded a CD entitled “Liebesode” consisting of songs by R. Strauss, Berg, Rachmaninov, and Tchaikovsky.

More recently, Anastassiya performed at a Gran Gala Lirico Concert at the Bibiena Theater in Mantova, Italy, presented by Dr. Michele Nocera during the 2016 season. Also that season, she participated in the Operosa Opera Festival in Montenegro, performing the role of Clorinda in Rossini’s La Cenerentola. In 2017 she was a finalist and special prize winner in the XXIV Riccardo Zandonai International Competition and sang the role of Michaela in Carmen at the Musica Riva Festival in Italy. This past March, she reprised her Michaelawith the Orquesta Reino de Aragon in Spain. This past August, Anastassiya received rave reviews for her Violetta in Fondi, Italy, as part of the Mythos Opera Festival where she also appeared in the festival’s Closing Night Opera Gala, conducted by Maestro Everett McCorvey.
